When she attended Mount Vernon College, Washington DC to pursue a degree in architecture, she chose to quit her studies in order to take on a full-time acting career. She has also played a role as a support in the film Mothers and Daughters. She was awarded the TV Guide Award in recognition of her performance in Friends in addition to her Golden Derby Award in recognition of her work in the film Cougartown.
