Arike Ogunbowale

Arike is an American professional basketball player. She plays for the Dallas Wings Women's National Basketball Association. She was a college basketball player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings selected her as the fifth selection of the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997. She was the second child of Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26 year old brother, and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years of age. She was the eldest child of her family, and her parents spoilt her the best. Gregory's father served in the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale grew within a family that was busy. She has a mother Yolanda and her brother Dare both played softball while attending DePaul. Her aunt was a volleyball player at UAPB and her cousin Endia Oliver is also a Volleyball player in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was on the institution's Honour Roll for three years consecutively. The school also recognized her for her career in high-school, including various awards. Arike received her diploma at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School that is situated within the town of Arike's birthplace. While studying at the school, she also played three seasons of varsity soccer. Ogunbowale, with her extraordinary skills and abilities, led her school to stunning victory several times. The high school season she played in was compiled with 73 starts, 1,477 career points, and 739 career rebound. Ogunbowale was able to win gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships as well as 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships. The 7th of July 2014 was the day she was selected for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also a part of the ACC All-Freshman Team, after her debut season at a college. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for hitting multiple important shots at the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale's basketball career has gotten getting off to a great start and she is expected to continue in that direction.
