The 1976 Montreal Olympic Games was the moment she made history when she became the first who scored a perfect 10 in asymmetric bars. To add to that she scored six more perfect 10s, thereby becoming the youngest all-around Olympic gold medalist only 14 years old age. Nadia Comaneci was able at attracting international attention to help Romania to establish itself as a major player on the international stage. A sports legend came into spotlight by achieving an unachievable number of points, thereby creating a legend and popularizing the sport of gymnastics throughout the globe. People's perception of women athletes was changed due to the feat. It was because of the effect she made at the Olympics and the release move that both moves toe-on (toes on) and the release move were named in her honor. They have remained, until today, as difficult. Aside from the Olympics she also was an athlete in the World Championships and European Championships. Her achievements made her one of the top gymnasts to ever compete. The 'Queen of the Olympics attempted her hand in modeling and advertising sports equipment after her defection to the US.
